An Evening with Diana Gabaldon


In connection with the Reign & Rebellion special exhibition JYF Museums hosted “Outlander” author Diana Gabaldon as part of her sold-out public appearance on September 16, 2023.

Enjoy the video of her presentation in which she reads an excerpt of her upcoming and as yet unpublished 10th "Outlander" novel.

In addition to touring both Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown during her visit, Diana also explored area landmarks for inspiration to weave into her next novel featuring Yorktown and the American Revolution.

About Diana Gabaldon and Outlander

Diana Gabaldon is the author of the award-winning, New York Times best-selling "Outlander" novels, which have sold 50 million copies in 39 languages and 114 countries.

Gabaldon, a scientist with a doctorate in quantitative behavioral ecology, jumped the academic rails in 1991 with the debut of her classic "Outlander" novel. Her adventure has continued with the most recent release "Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone."

About the Museums

Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s days. Jamestown Settlement is located on State Route 31 near the Colonial Parkway in James City County, just southwest of Williamsburg and adjacent to Historic Jamestowne. The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is located on Route 1020 in Yorktown, near Yorktown Battlefield and Historic Yorktown.
