A re-created fort depicting the Virginia Company of London's military outpost in 1610-14
Get a glimpse at daily life in the fort
Venture inside the walls of the re-created 1610-14 fort and discover how the colonists would have lived. Explore thatched roof structures, as well as an Anglican church, a court of guard, a storehouse and a governor’s house.
Inside the fort, you may see interpreters making wood and leather products using 17th-century-style tools, sewing or preparing meals. Outside the fort, interpreters seasonally grow heirloom vegetables and herbs as well as crops of tobacco and corn.
