‘Profiles of Honor’ Traveling Exhibition at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown June 23 & 24

YORKTOWN, Va., June 21, 2017 — “Profiles of Honor,” a traveling exhibition sponsored by the Virginia World War I & II Commemoration Commission, will come to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown on Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24, in conjunction with the “AfterWARd: The Revolutionary Veterans Who Built America” special exhibition.

The “Profiles of Honor” traveling exhibition brings to life Virginia’s integral role in World War I and II and highlights stories of people who served in both conflicts. The mobile exhibition will be open for visitors in the main parking lot from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Visitors are invited to bring personal World War I and II-related photographs, letters and documents to be scanned for inclusion in the Virginia Profiles of Honor Project, which will be held in a museum classroom.

Admission to the “Profiles of Honor” traveling exhibition is free. The “AfterWARd” special exhibition, on display through November 27 and included with museum admission, chronicles the post-war lives of veterans of the Siege of Yorktown and connects America’s veterans past and present.

“Profiles of Honor” is among a dozen programs, public lectures and presentations, made possible in part by Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, presented in conjunction with the special exhibition from June through November.
