Jamestown Settlement Godspeed at 2014 Harborfest

Jamestown Settlement’s Godspeed at Norfolk Harborfest® in 2014.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Godspeed’s commissioning – on May 22, 2006 – and subsequent 10-week voyage along the Eastern Seaboard to launch a year-and-a-half series of signature events commemorating the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown.

While the Godspeed is away from Jamestown Settlement, a living-history museum of 17th-century Virginia operated by the state’s Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, visitors will have access to the Susan Constant and Discovery, re-creations of the other two 1607 vessels.

The Godspeed is sailed by a crew of Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation staff and volunteers, and its voyages are supported with private donations. Jamestown Settlement is located on State Route 31 and the Colonial Parkway (2110 Jamestown Road) next to Historic Jamestowne, site of the original 1607 settlement.
