Clifford Fleet Named to Lead Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc.; Brian Fields Joins Board of Directors

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., June 24, 2014 – Clifford B. Fleet of Richmond succeeds Sue H. Gerdelman of Williamsburg on July 1 as president of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc., the not-for-profit entity that coordinates private fundraising to benefit programs of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, a Virginia state agency that operates Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center history museums.

JS 208U-YVC_reflex&208U stackedMr. Fleet, who is president and chief executive officer of Philip Morris USA, has served on the Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors for five years and as its treasurer since 2012. As Foundation, Inc., president, Mr. Fleet joins the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board of Trustees, where he has served as a Foundation, Inc., liaison to the Marketing and Public Programming committees since 2011.

Mrs. Gerdelman, who has served as president since January 2009, remains on the Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors and also becomes a board-elected member of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board of Trustees.

Other new Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc., officers are John H. Hager of Richmond, vice president, and Gordon C. Angles of Williamsburg, treasurer. Mari Ann Banks of Gloucester continues as secretary.

Newly elected to the Board of Directors, Brian T. Fields of Yorktown is vice president of supply chain management for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. He has served on the board of Youth Challenge and coaches several youth athletic teams. Mr. Fields has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Auburn University and a master’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary.
