Upper elementary and middle school teachers from across Virginia are invited to apply for the 2022 Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Summer Teacher Institute. Twenty participants will be selected to join us from July 11 to 14 at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, a living-history museum in Yorktown, Va.
This institute is free for all participants, thanks to generous support by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc. Annual Fund, the Abbitt Family Foundation, Randy and Shelby Hawthorne, and Wilma and Marc Sharp. Hotel and meals also are provided.
The 2022 Summer Teacher Institute will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, July 11, and end at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 14. Participants will be actively engaged in both indoor and outdoor program activities between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the second and third days of the program. A travel stipend is provided, and certification of professional development hours will be issued to participants upon completion of the institute and fall follow-up activities. Participating teachers also will receive hands-on resources to use in the classroom.
