A new season of learning and discovery begins with Teacher Appreciation Summer!
As a thank you to teachers and educators, Jamestown Settlement & American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are offering free museum admission to public and private school classroom teachers and one guest, June 1 – August 31, 2022. Educators must show a valid school identification from the past year to receive free admission, along with a small bag of teaching objects to take back to the classroom.

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is expanding our teacher professional development program. Help us serve you better and enter to win free hands-on, reproduction artifacts for your classroom by completing our brief survey.


Make Our Museums Your Year-Round Classroom

Explore our country’s beginnings at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Discover tools to enrich your visit with a variety of educational programs and teacher learning materials available at our museums, in your classroom and online.

At Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, indoor galleries feature exhibits with period artifacts, immersive environments, interactives and films. Outdoors, experience living-history demonstrations and activities in life-size re-creations of a Paspahegh town, 1607 ships, colonial fort, Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm.

Virtual Learning Experiences
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation offers educators a variety of virtual learning experiences.
Virtual Teacher Workshops
Join museum educators for free 90-minute online teacher professional development opportunities. Virginia educators may receive recertification points for participation.
Group Tours and Programs
An array of fun and engaging tours and programs for groups of 15 or more are customized for a variety of ages, curriculum standards and special interests. All tours and programs are correlated to Virginia Standards of Learning, National Standards for History, National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies and Common Core.

Explore our extensive collection of Jamestown, colonial America and American Revolution-related teacher resources.
Youth and Family Programs
Exciting history-based programs for children ages 4 and up. Scout programs involve youth in active learning in gallery exhibits and living-history areas to earn badges. Homeschool families can visit year-round with special daily admission, plus Homeschool Program Days each fall.

Immersive learning experiences in your classroom, no matter the distance from our museums.
Teacher Professional Development
Professional development opportunities support teachers with a variety of needs, from in-service training session at their school division to in-depth teacher programs to enhance student learning experiences.
