What to Know Before "The Tempest"

Sold out shows at Jamestown Settlement September 14-16 and 21-23

Miranda of The Tempest aboard JS Susan ConstantAn adaption of William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” will be performed aboard Jamestown Settlement’s re-creation of the Susan Constant and in the re-created colonial fort on six evenings — September 14, 15, and 16, and September 21, 22 and 23, 2017. All performances are sold out.

Reminders Before the Show

Doors open at 6 p.m. with pre-show entertainment and concessions on the ships’ pier.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs for this progressive outdoor theater event. Introductory tales from the ship’s galley begin at 6:40 p.m. and lead to the storm scene at 7 p.m., followed by a procession to the re-created fort for the main performance of “The Tempest.”

Coolers, food and outside beverages are not permitted. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Cash only.

In case of inclement weather and cancellation of a performance, ticketholders are eligible to select another performance night (depending on availability) or receive a full refund. Announcements of cancellations will be made by 12 noon on the day of the performance on jyfmuseums.org and Facebook page.
