Life at Jamestown

Looking for adventure?

Join the Virginia Company of London as they set sail for the colony at Jamestown. But what skills did you need to survive and make the colony profitable? Students work as a team to move through military maneuvers and cook in an open hearth, use navigational skills to cross the ocean, practice diplomacy and trade with the Powhatan Indians, and collaborate with other students to discover the legacies of Jamestown. For grades 4 to 8.

Program complies with VA Social Studies Standards of Learning.

“It’s so helpful for the students to see examples of the artifacts/places we discuss in person.  This experience makes their learning real. Since life at Jamestown was so different than our lives, it helps to see it to understand it.”   – 4th Grade Teacher, Loudoun County Public School.
