June 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Honor Juneteenth a day early on June 18 at Jamestown Settlement as a variety of performers from Atumpan Dance Theatre and Teens With a Purpose take the stage for a 90-minute program interpreting the theme “what freedom means” through song, dance, music, spoken word and dramatic readings. A drum call and traditional African libation ceremony opens the event, followed by presentations by violinist Odysseus, singers Rico Robinson and Sylvia Tabb Lee, readings by James Cameron, and spoken-word artists from Teens With a Purpose, plus Virginia’s rising youth poet laureates.
